Barbara Moon Boertzel creates works from a variety of materials, including handmade paper crafted from natural fibers, an art form she studied extensively early on in her career. From 1973 to 1989, Boertzel lived on Guam, where she researched Micronesian fiber arts and traveled to Japan to study traditional hand papermaking techniques. During this time, she developed her own handmade papers using tropical fibers and natural plant dyes.
Join us as Barbara discusses the story of her research, work and dedication to learning the craft of papermaking.
