PORTRAIT CLUB

Get creative and connect with fellow art lovers in this relaxed, hands-on drawing club! Each week, participants will be randomly partnered with fellow club participants to take turns sitting/posing and drawing to spark inspiration and build your skills. Participants will also try a variety of drawing warmups and occasional mini-lessons to get started. 

Please note that this is a club facilitated by the Museum. Some drawing experience is helpful. For a formal drawing class with in-depth instruction, please see the roster of classes listed on the website.  

Come draw, experiment, and enjoy eight weeks of artistic fun and community!

Some basic materials are provided but feel free to bring your favorites. The Michener will provide: 

• 9x12 inch drawing paper 

• 9x12 inch newsprint paper 

• 2B Drawing pencils, hand sharpeners, erasers 

• Compressed and vine charcoal 

• Drawing boards – various sizes 

• Table easels  

For participants who wish to bring their own supplies, please avoid bringing materials that emit fumes or strong scents.
