Students learn new drawing, painting, and sculpture skills, explore a variety of art materials, and visit Michener galleries weekly in our Explore Art series. Individualized instruction and inspiring art lessons enhance observation and imagination, foster the development of new talents, provide opportunities for self-expression, build confidence, stimulate creativity, and encourage the evolution of a personal style. Students visit Michener galleries as inspiration for their own art making, and they work from photographs, observation, and imagination. Students will use pencil, oil and chalk pastels, tempera, acrylic and watercolor paint. Projects do not repeat, and many students enjoy taking this class in the fall, winter, and spring for consecutive years.
