Jazz Night: Dave & Alex Posmontier

Dave Posmontier has been playing keyboard since the age of seven and has played professionally since the age of 12. He majored in mathematics at Temple University in the late 60's but played with the Temple Jazz Band and knew he would be a full-time musician after graduation. In the 70's, Dave played in an organ trio with Mickey Roker and Bootsie Barnes and played extensively in the Philly area. Dave can be heard on several CD’s of Philadelphia area jazz artists and in 2010, released a CD, Posterity featuring his original compositions and arrangements. He has recently released a live acoustic trio CD, Deep Pockets.

Alex Posmontier is a Philadelphia area-based pianist with international performance experience and a growing list of studio credits as a session player, arranger, producer and teacher. Alex’s strong background in classical and jazz has provided him with opportunities such as performing at the Montreux and Istanbul Jazz Festivals, as well as playing alongside notable musicians like Duane Eubanks and Chris Brubeck, among many other Philadelphia greats. Besides session work for other musicians, Alex self-produced his first two EPs, Coast to Coast and Bridges, and recorded piano for the Netflix film Candy Jar. His original composition “IDT,” off of Coast to Coast, was even selected for the Philadelphia Real Book II (a collection of jazz works by Philadelphia’s best musicians).

Guests will be treated to an evening of art, captivating music and light refreshments in the Museum’s elegant Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion. Refreshments and Museum admission are included in ticket price.

Please note: Seating is arranged in tables. Each table can seat eight individuals per table. Tickets purchased together under the same name will be sat together.
